To install GradeQuick:
- Choose the location where you want to install GradeQuick on the network, and make sure you have full permissions to this directory.
- If your school will be running GradeQuick from a mapped network drive (e.g. F:\GQWin) rather than a UNC Path (e.g. \\Teachers\Apps\GQWin), install from a computer that uses that same mapped drive letter rather than installing at the server. This drive and path will be used to create school settings during the installation. Do not map the drive to the root of GQWin (the GradeQuick program folder). Place the GQWin folder at least one level below the mapped network drive.
- Download GradeQuick.
- Save gqw.exe to your desktop.
- Double-click gqw.exe and follow the prompts to complete the installation.
- GradeQuick will create a program shortcut on the desktop of the computer from which you install. You will need to create shortcuts to the application (Wgrade32.exe) located in the program directory for all of your teachers.
- Make sure that you have an active Internet connection, so that custom files can be downloaded for your school. This is crucial if your school is using an interface between GradeQuick and your student information system, as the files needed for your interface will be downloaded at this time. Once the activation is complete, you will no longer need an Internet connection to run GradeQuick, but you will need an Internet connection to view GradeQuick user guides, or if you are using GradeQuick with Edline.
- Run GradeQuick. You will be asked to enter the School Name and Activation Key. These can be found in the same letter and email from Jackson Software that contained the software download links.
- Copy and paste the name and key into the dialog. If you are entering them by hand, they must be entered precisely as listed, and are case-sensitive.
- Click OK. GradeQuick will customize your installation by downloading files from the Internet.
